Rachel Thom
Rachel Thom is 21 years old and has worked with Jim Kilpatrick Percussion for 4 years. Her current position is Business Development Manager.
In 2010, at the age of 10 years old, Rachel picked up a pair of drumsticks for the first time as part of West Lothian Schools Pipe band (WLSPB). She competed with WLSPB through Novice and Juvenile until she turned 18 years old. Police Scotland & Federation Pipe Band, formally Glasgow Police, is Rachels current band. In 2018, Rachel became the 18 and Under World Solo Drumming Champion. A current member of the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland Senior Band and Lead Drummer of the Development Band, Rachel has carried out some prestigious events with the NYPBoS – Playing for and meeting HRH Prince Charles, performing on stage with The Script at the Hydro in Glasgow, and performing at Buckingham palace.
In 2019, following her success on winning the World Solo drumming championships , Rachel was announced as one of British Drum Companies youngest endorsees. In the same year, she also became an endorsee for Jim Kilpatrick Percussion.
An Exciting time for Rachel was when in 2020, she travelled on business to the NAMM show in Los Angeles with Team KP, Rachel’s first ever trip to the USA. This was made more exciting when Rachel visited the REMO factory in Valencia and being announced as a full REMO Endorsee. Enter hyperlink to the story. It won’t be her last trip to the USA.
